Iceland were left spitting feathers on Friday, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Luxembourg at the Laugardalsvöllur Stadium. That followed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina on September 11, which snapped their three-game losing streak.

With seven points from as many games, Åge Hareide’s side are fifth in Group J, six points adrift of second-placed Slovakia with three games remaining.

Meanwhile, Europe’s whipping boys Liechtenstein failed to stop the rot, as they fell to a 2-0 loss against Bosnia and Herzegovina last time out. They're one of the five sides in the European qualifiers yet to win a point.

Konrad Funfstuck’s side are winless in 20 games across competitions since a 1-1 draw against Armenia in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September 2021.

Liechtenstein, who are 199th in the FIFA rankings, are without any point in the qualifiers and aare languishing at the bottom of the standing.

Fresh off a somewhat disappointing draw against Luxembourg, Iceland will look for a morale-boosting win.

Liechtenstein’s form is nothing to write home about, so expect the hosts to pick up all three points at home.

Liechtenstein will look to pick up its first win of the qualifying round of UEFA Euros on Monday as the team takes on Iceland for the second time.

On Monday afternoon, Group J play will continue for last place Liechtenstein and fourth place Iceland as the teams look for points on matchday eight of the Euro qualifiers. Liechtenstein is still in search of its first win in the qualifying round of the tournament and currently has a goal differential of -20.

Liechtenstein's most recent game was played against Bosnia and Herzegovina and resulted in a 2-0 loss. The team was held to just two shots over 90 minutes of play with only one of those ending up on frame. Considering the team allowed Bosnia and Herzegovina 29 shots, it was able to escape with just a 2-0 loss due to strong play in net by Benjamin Büchel who made 10 saves.

Iceland comes into Monday's game with seven points which puts them in fourth place in the group standings. The team's most recent game resulted in a 1-1 draw against third Luxembourg.

Orri Steinn Óskarsson struck first to give Iceland the lead in the 23rd minute, but Luxembourg countered in the 46th minute to even the score. Despite multiple chances, neither team was able to score the go-ahead goal and Iceland had to settle for a single point.
