Paul’s only previous professional fight, against KSI in 2019, ended in defeat by split decision. The 28-year-old also boxed Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout in 2021 with no official result announced, though at one point Mayweather's arm appeared to be the only thing keeping Paul upright.
Danis was originally scheduled to fight KSI earlier this year but pulled out a week before the fight. The 30-year-old, who counts Conor McGregor as a close friend after the two trained together for years, looks set to back up his words with his fists this time around.
The two have been sparring on social media for months now and will finally come to blows in Manchester, on the undercard of KSI’s fight with Tommy Fury.
An incredibly ill-tempered build-up came to a head when Danis appeared to have cut Paul on Thursday during a face-off, drawing blood from the YouTube and WWE star.
Paul has insisted the fight will be going ahead and the incident adds even more spice to what already looks like a grudge match in every sense.
YouTuber KSI and boxer Tommy Fury will headline the event, but there are going to be plenty of people tuning in to watch these two duke it out.
Paul and Danis have been firing off insults at one another on social media and heckling each other for a long time.
Paul has recently found success in WWE, but he has boxed three times. He has one professional fight against KSI which resulted in a split decision loss while he has another draw on against the YouTuber on his amateur resume in addition to an exhibition fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
As is usually the case in the influencer boxing game, there isn't a whole lot to go on when breaking down these fights.
One thing is certain, though: The two have done a great job of selling the fight. Whether it's real or manufactured, the two have sold bad blood between each other. The pre-fight press conference got physical. Paul threw a water bottle at Danis and the former Bellator fighter responded by slamming a microphone in Paul's face.
But when the opening bell rings, it won't be about all the trash talk and hype. These two will eventually have to back up the talk.
On that note, there's a reason that Paul is a heavy favorite. He actually has boxing experience. His performances against KSI and Floyd Mayweather were nothing to write home about. He landed just above 10 percent of his punches against Money.
However, Danis has nearly no striking experience. Both of his MMA fights were over in the first round and he won by submission both times. He trains with Conor McGregor but that isn't going to be mean much unless he has soaked in some skills through osmosis.
Logan Paul has yet to win a boxing match, but we have seen his skills. He's obviously not going to be holding a world title anytime soon, but he showed some toughness against Mayweather and he wasn't totally outclassed by KSI.
KSI has gone on to have some success in the influencer boxing sphere. While Paul has wisely pursued other avenues to market himself, including WWE, KSI's pursuit of boxing has given us a look into what the other Paul brother could do if he were more committed to the sport.
He has instead taken to the WWE over the last couple of years but is now set to make a comeback to take on Conor McGregor’s training partner Danis.
Danis pulled out of a clash with KSI in January but will now take on the influencer’s business partner in his first-ever boxing bout.
The rivals have been going head-to-head on social media ahead of the fight and Paul has reportedly threatened legal action on Danis due to his posts.
The bout has almost been hyped up more than the main event - KSI vs Tommy Fury - with social media jibes, threats of lawsuits and then dramatic clashes when the pair have met on stage this week.
After Paul threw a bottle at Thursday’s press conference, Danis launched a microphone at him from close range, seemingly hitting the side of his face. Reports suggest Paul was cut, but he wore a balaclava to Friday’s weigh-in to keep everyone guessing.
Paul, older brother of Jake, has been starring as a wrestler with WWE but he returns to boxing this weekend for the first time since an exhibition bout against Floyd Mayweather in 2021. It his first competitive fight since losing to KSI in 2019.
Danis, meanwhile, is an American mixed martial artist who trained alongside Conor McGregor and competes with Bellator. Scheduled to face KSI earlier this year, there are still lingering doubts as to whether or not he will actually fight this weekend, with former UFC star and bare-knuckle boxer Mike Perry tipped to potentially step in.
The YouTube star and his brother Jake have had a long-standing feud with Danis, with things ramping up in recent weeks as the MMA star launched a scathing attack on both Logan and his fiancee Nina Agdal. The bout serves as a co-headliner for Misfits Boxing's Prime Card alongside KSI vs Tommy Fury.
Danis hasn't fought in four years since his sophomore Bellator outing, while Paul last competed in an exhibition against Floyd Mayweather in the summer of 2021. There will be an host of other social media stars on the undercard, which begins early in the evening and will have the crowd packed in from the start.
